Hi, my name is Jonamir Ian Ventura (Contact), an aspiring 21-year-old photographer and undergraduate at UC Berkeley. Although I've had around four years of experience using a dSLR, I've always been fascinated by capturing my world. In high school I rode a bike to places in downtown San Jose and went photoexploring with a Kodak point-and-shoot. Even as early as elementary school I took my dad's Hi-8 video camera and made short films with the neighborhood kids.
I am no different from that person today. On my way to class everyday I'd pass by locations and objects most people take for granted and ask myself, How would this look behind a camera? I am enraptured by the beauty in the people, places, and things I've encountered, and have found the perfect medium for expressing that wonder. It is my humble opinion that a good photographer helps his or her audience find that wonder too. I want to be your eyes!
I have had extensive experience working with models, but candids have always held a special place in my heart. Whether I am capturing a smouldering pose or a natural smile, I enjoy working with my subjects and endeavour to create a professional environment where everybody can enjoy themselves. With my trusty dSLR camera and robust experience in photo postprocessing and web design, I have been able to express that vision with gusto.
I am currently doing free photoshoots in the Bay Area to help develop my portfolio and get my name out there. If you are interested, please check out my contact page. Aside from photoshoots, I would be happy to photograph any event or wedding worth cherishing.
Cheers,
